Chilcote Brittanys began in 1968 with a cute little roan Brittany puppy named Larry's Dottie. We quickly discovered one Brittany was not enough, so Snooper's Freckles and Patti Be Good joined our household. They attended obedience classes and were soon competing for Companion Dog obedience titles (CD). Freckles became my first obedience titled Brittany. Our eight year old son successfully completed a CD title on Patti. These Brittanys also hunted with my husband, leading us to the discovery of field trials. Showing and Field Trials became equal priorities but as time passed, I preferred showing and my husband preferred hunting over field trials.Ch. Princess Perky was my first champion but every champion that followed had Chilcote as their kennel name. Then I began showing Am/Can/PR Ch. Chilcote's Charger Am/Can CD, known as Charger. He was my first group placing Brittany. Soon showing became my passion. At around this time, we bred our first litter that had liver and white puppies. One of those puppies would become the most famous of any Chilcote Brittany. His name was Am/Can/ Ch. Chilcote's Bent Oak Creditor, known as Credit. Credit continued his legacy through his children, producing many top winning Brittanys. Simultaneously, Am/Can Ch. Chilcote's Twin Oak Challenge, known as Chip, was doing his share of winning. Over the years we have been fortunate to place our puppies in competitive obedience and agility homes, as well as with owners who comleted Master Hunter titles on their Brittanys. Above all, our most important objective is placing Chilcote Brittanys in excellent homes as companion hunters and pets.In 1995 & 1996 we were the very proud owner/breeder of the number one Brittany and winner of the Pedigree Award, Ch. Chilcote's Credit Account, known as Count. The next Chilcote Brittany to win a lot was Am/Can Ch. Chilcote's Credit Line, also known as Credit. His significant accomplishments were a Best In Show and the honor of being the number one Brittany in Canada. Many other Chilcote Brittanys have left a significant impact in their own way.The present star is Am/Int'l Ch. Chilcote's Talk About Me, co-owned and shown exclusively by Jessie Schulz. While attending the University of Florida, Jessie is able to attend enough shows to keep Talker in the top ten. Jessie and I have registered "CREDIT" as our kennel name and will gradually phase out Chilcote. Jessie being co-owner of Credit Brittanys will continue the tradition of breeding versatile, pretty, sound Brittanys that meet the Brittany Standard. |
