At an International Dog Show there are four shows in a weekend instead of two, which means we compete in two shows a day.  There are four sets of groups per show, Bred-by puppy, Bred-by adult, puppy, and adult, and four Best in Shows per show.  The judging panel must contain judges from other countries and every one of your judges writes a critique of your dog during the breed judging.  Best in Show is judged by two judges who must agree on the Best in Show winner.  They also award a Reserve Best in Show.

GCh Credit Where Credit Is Due “Chilcote” competed in the Bred-by and regular Sporting Group.  He got three Bred-by Group Ones and two regular Sporting Group Ones.  Chilcote won two Bred-by Best in Shows and two Bred-by Reserve Best in Shows.  I am so proud of all he has accomplished in a short period of time.

Ch Rubicon’s Just One Look “Emily” only competed in the regular Hound Group.  She got three Group Ones and two Best in Shows.   Emily is an amazing dog and I am so happy she is getting this recognition.

After the last show finished, someone asked me if I was staying to compete in the Grand Sieger competition.  I asked her who was eligible to compete and she said the Best in Show winners from the weekend compete against each other.  I decided I would stay.  The ring steward called each dog in one at a time.  Every judge from the weekend was in the ring.  The judges walked around the ring and looked at all the dogs, trying to make their decision.  They had to tell the ring steward who they thought deserved this win.  In the end, Emily was the Grand Sieger!!

A little dog show news…Last weekend in Zolfo Springs, FL Chilcote won the Breed both days and got a Group 3 on Sunday.  Koin won Best of Opposite both days and picked up points toward her Grand Championship.  Emily (Greyhound) also got a Group 3 on Sunday. 

Now for agility news…Jake owned by the Davis family is continuing to be very impressive.  In his second weekend of agility he went 9 for 9 with 4 first places, 4 second places, and 1 third place.  Kiri owned by Victoria MacVicar got three Double Q’s in 4 days at the agility trials in Perry, GA.
